Reinventing a studio of style
This installation was created and built in a vast warehouse that gave its own incredible character to the event. Three distinct spaces were created to
showcase each of the three stories for Converse – the Painter’s Studio, the Inventor’s Lab and the Ambassador’s Gallery
The American sneaker flag created a grand entrance into the vast space and world of Converse AllStars with a 9 x 6 metre ‘dripped’ wall, painted by artist Robert Doble. Clear acrylic plinths were covered in volumes of dripped paint that gave the illusion that the paint created the stands. The Cons gallery highlights street culture with Cons ambassadors and storyteller’s portraits printed on aluminium. Jack Purcell featured an inventor/curator area, where we created a sneaker ‘synthesiser’ so the attendees could play a range of instruments such as piano, flute and organ by tapping the JP sneaker like a keyboard.
