Carlier Makigawa is undoubtedly one of the most established and prolific contemporary jewellers in Australia. For her latest exhibition we designed and directed the catalogue to showcase her newest works. The linked structures all coiled by hand into an intricate sinuous mesh, with its roots in armour and protection, are a fluid play between human form and shifting shapes. Modelled artfully against a black framed body and background, the works shimmer and shift elegantly in blues and greys across the human form.
