Overview
Converse 14

The American sneaker flag created a grand entrance into this vast space and world of Converse AllStars is a full scale all colour artist’s studio, with a 9 x 6 metre ‘dripped’ wall, painted by artist Robert Doble. Clear acrylic plinths were covered in a volume of dripped paint that gave the illusion that the paint created the stands.

The Cons gallery highlights street culture with a gallery of Cons ambassadors and storyteller’s portraits printed on aluminium. Concrete graffitied barriers and authentic iron street guards formed the product display. Jack Purcell featured as an inventor/curator area, where we created a sneaker ‘synthesiser’ so the attendees could play a range of instruments such as piano, flute and organ by tapping the JP sneaker like a keyboard.
